On a cold, wet winter’s day there’s nowhere better to be than warm and cosy in front of the fire. The tiny newborn orphan lamb whose mum left him to fend for himself in a windswept paddock late yesterday afternoon, couldn’t even dream of such comfort.
Luckily for the little lamb, a kind hearted lady chose a different path to walk her dogs that day. Strolling along she spied an odd pile of wool lying in the paddock far removed from the two ewes and their lambs heading off into the distance, and went to investigate.
On arriving at the pile she was shocked to see it struggle up and stumble to meet her. Bundling the frozen little one into her arms an urgent call to a local lamb rescue organisation, saw little Timmy arrive in our lap the next morning.
Little Timmy was dehydrated and very hungry, but none the worse for wear overall. Now with a belly full of colostrum, a nappy saving the rug from accidents and a house full of friends to keep him company he need never fear being cold and alone again.
